Cookies with Daddy

Cy's Advent on Thursday was to make and decorate holiday cookies. With my swimming commitment at this time of year I am not available to do the Advent activities with during the week with cy, so it's up to Brad. I am SO blessed to have a man In my life that is always willing and able to do these types of things with our child. We have such a wonderful partnership and I am such a lucky lady!! 

Dear Santa

Santa came to Cy's school on Friday for pictures. Cyrus wanted to write a letter to him telling him what he wants for Christmas this year. His answers are adorable:) agh, to be 4 again!

Date Night!

Mekong and Sweet Frogs, yum!!

Brad and I had an impromptu date night this weekend. Cy and the cousins were with Doc & Jill so we snuck out to Mekong for dinner and followed up with Sweet Frogs. It was nice to get away together. These past few months have been crazy, now throw swimming in the mix, plus the pregnancy and I'm generally too tired to do anything fun. So it was great to get out and just talk and catch up. I am looking forward to Christmas break so we can spend some quality time together, especially before baby #2 shows up!!

7 Months

85 days to go (so says babycenter.com)! It's really too bad pregnancies are not just 7 months to full term. This would be the best time to go in and have this little girl. She is getting big enough that she is making me uncomfortable every time I sit down, and sleeping is not going so well. She has lodged herself under my ribs on the right side and seems to stay there, all the time. I try to push her down but she pushes right by, definitely my daughter:) The pregnancy is still cranking along. I have been much less active this time around, which I am trying to embrace. I just don't have the motivation to workout on the weekends and don't have the time during the week. I am working 7 - 7 right now with swimming, and though I do get in with them occasionally, I am most certainly not going to get up before 5:30 to workout in the mornings. I'll save that for after her arrival. So, I am taking this opportunity to rest my body and eat lots of holiday treats this year. It is nice to be pregnant during the holidays because I feel like I have a free pass to sample everything:) We go back to school on Monday for 3 weeks: one more week of curriculum, one week of review, and then a final week of finals. After that, we are out until January 6th, hallelujah. I am ready for a LONG break. Brad and I are heading to Canada for a week late in January and then when we get home it will be hurry up and wait for the arrival of Baby Tag Along. I am getting so excited to have a tiny little person in this house again :)

Brunch

Another year, another "brunch". It's really hard to explain this phenomenon at Collegiate and I'm not even sure how to try. Suffice it to say that it is LOUD, and I mean loud, and confusing, and every single girl in the school (5th - 12th) grade goes, every year. It is a sacred event at Collegiate, for the girls by the girls. I've been twice and I might not go next year, we'll see. 

Thomas Comes To Town

Thomas the Train came to town this weekend. Cy was excited about it and Brad and I were excited to see him. However, by time we got there, the line was like Disney World to get in. We stood in line for about an hour before Cy had to go to the bathroom so we snuck in. Once in, I asked one of the people working the event what the plan was for the day. She said that Thomas would be taking a 40 minute break at that time and would then come out for another  hour for pictures before being done for the day. I knew we had another hour in line at least before we even got in to see him to take pictures. So, we just enjoyed the expo and let Cy see and do all the little activities. He was totally bummed that Thomas had to take a nap and couldn't see him, but he took it in stride. It was a nice day either way, just sad we didn't get any pictures with Thomas :(

Christmas Family

We participated in the "Christmas Mothers" program through Cy's school this year. They adopt a family in the Richmond area that can't provide Christmas for their kids and give a big list of things everyone want. So, Cy and I picked about 8 "wants" from the tree and went to get the items for the family. It was a simple act that made me feel good. It also started a good conversation with Cy about why we needed to get this little boy and girl presents for their tree. We used to do something like this when I was growing up, the Christmas Angel I think, and I would like to continue it with Cyrus and baby Tag as they grow up.
