I started this blog 3 years and a complete lifetime ago...I only posted twice b/c well, let's be honest, I am not good at these types of things but after reading those two posts I am reminded of how quickly life can change and how much can happen in a short amount of time.
Brad and I have continued our romance over the years and have sealed the deal with a fairy tale wedding in Yampa, CO on June 28th 2008. Brad and I were blessed to add to our family on October 22, 2009 with Cyrus Sherwood Cooke; our son.
Cyrus is currently 16 months old and the joy of our lives. We had a rough time getting adjusted into parenthood during those first few weeks of Cy's life but we are in the groove now and absolutely love being parents. Cyrus makes it so easy, he is full of life and it is so fun to see the world through the eyes of a child again.
Cyrus is 23 pounds and 32 inches tall, he is blonde with blue eyes like his daddy and fair like his Uncle Todd. He is so bright and learns things so quickly that I am utterly amazed with him on a daily basis. He loves to read and "The Wheels On The Bus" is currently his favorite book by a long shot. I know it by heart at this point;) He has learned to scribble on a notepad and is thrilled by his craftsmanship when he's done. We received our first refrigerator framed artwork from his daycare provider, Chrissy, the other day. I will save that for him forever, not that it will mean much to him in 20 years but it certainly means a lot to me. He has started to talk and repeats everything that we say to him. His first word was "tractor" and uses it on a daily basis. He also is learning his colors and numbers and loves his fishes and turtles during bath time. He has just developed a deep affection for his "woobie" in these past two months and though I think it's cute that he walks around the house trailing "woobie" like Pig Pen it makes me wonder if this will come back to haunt us in the future.
Needless to say, I am such a fortunate woman to be married to my best friend and to be able to raise such an outstanding little human. I look forward to a lifetime of learning and loving these men in my life.
