Cartwheels & Coffee and Blow Toad

I was hoping to take Cy to Maymont today to see the animals but the weather was looking pretty ominous and the weather report called for 80% chance of rain, so we needed a good inside activity. Luckily, my good friend Alison is great at coming up with a million fun things to do with the kids and suggested Cartwheels & Coffee and lunch at Blow Toad. We had never been to either so I was excited.

Cartwheels  & Coffee is this adorable coffee shop with a fun kid centered play area in the middle. There were tons of moms there with their kiddos and a few dads too, which I thought was great. We met the Anders at about 10:30ish and hung out for nearly an hour before the kids wore themselves out. It was great to be able to sit and chat over coffee while the kids played! After C&C, we strolled across Cary Street to Blow Toad which is a new restaurant that just opened recently, I hadn't heard too much about it and was excited to see what the menu was like. It was really good, they had some great lunch selections and the kids, of course, thoroughly enjoyed their Mack n Cheese:) Blowtoad does pizza on a coal (rather than wood) fired oven and LOTS of beer, can't wait to take Brad here when he gets back from Turkey!
