Bike ride to story time...

Alison told me about this great story teller at Dogwood Dell today and asked if Cy and I would like to join her and Georgie. It was so fun! Cy and I rode to the Carillon in the 101* heat and it was HOT. It's only about 4 miles to the Carillon from our house but my goodness, I was drenched by time we got there. There were these cute moms in their cute sundresses with their cute children...and then there was me, drenched with sweat from head to toe. My hair looked like I just jumped out of the shower, as did my clothing. whew!
We let the kids play (and by play, I mean sit on the swings while we pushed them) for about an hour before the storytime began. The Story Teller was from West Africa and told a number of great interactive stories and added some traditional drumming occasionally which was great. We couldn't stay the whole time because Alison had to pick up Emma and I'm still trying to get Cy to nap (unsuccessfully) each day but it was a wonderful early morning activity.
