Meal Planning

I have never been a good meal planner. I am a "kitchen sink cooker" which means, if it's in the fridge I will throw it into a pot, season it up, and that will be that. Sometimes it's amazing and sometimes less so but it works for me. However, during this challenge, I have been trying to focus on meal planning on Saturday mornings and doing a quick shopping trip on Sat. afternoon or Sunday morning depending on our schedules. I have only really gotten into it these past two weeks but I can tell you that it is saving me a bundle of time, and money. I don't have to run to the grocery store each day after school anymore to grab a tomato or whatever and since I know what we're eating, I don't randomly buy a whole bunch of stuff with no proposed use. I habitually throw out perfectly good produce (well, not good at the point that I throw it out) because I just don't use it. I have/had switched to frozen veggies for the most part so that I wouldn't be so wasteful but now I am adding the fresh back in because I know exactly what I am making and when I'm making it....this is a habit I am definitely going to stick with!!

*I just have to add that the frozen pizza night was a reflection of me being at a dinner party and knowing that Brad wouldn't be up for cooking a meal for he and Cyrus...we always have these in the freezer for nights like this:)
