This week was good. I got all my mileage and felt pretty good about it. I left my running shoes at school one evening so I had to run 7 in my minimalist shoes in the morning and that HURT my calves. I have decided those are just going to be for walking around, I can't wear them to run in. They destroy my legs and its not worth it for me.
All in all, I ran 40 miles this week. I need to work on my stretching and focus some energy on that every day if possible. This week coming up is going to be a challenge because we are taking a group of kids camping/canoeing all weekend (starting Friday night) so I need to fit a 14-miler in somewhere during the week as well as the other runs. I will probably be able to run on Sunday night when we get back (ugh) but I'll need to find the time to do the rest before we go. That part stresses me out a bit but I'll figure it out. We have about 5 weeks of school left and then it will be less stressful as far as finding the time to do it.
I am a bit concerned about not being able to run for the 9 days while I am in Costa Rica and then again while we are on the cruise but I'm just going to go for it. There is nothing I can do about it and I'm pretty sure that will not break my performance on race day, at least that is what I am hoping!!!
